We Celebrate Our Fifth Year
When Charlie Wilson and Clare Hughes first thought about starting a home care agency in Monroe County, their immediate goal was to be different. "We wanted to stand out," said Clare. "With the proliferation of home care agencies, we wanted to be different. It's working and we're very excited about that."
What Clare Hughes needed in business acumen she found in Charlie Wilson. A Certified Public Account with an MPA, Charlie had extensive experience in personal care and long term care. He needed Clare's clinical expertise and nursing management talent to make it happen. The two meshed well in philosophy, work ethic and strong determination.
"We recognize that our patient's needs and situations are unique," said Mrs. Hughes. "That's why we train all staff members of Pocono Medical Home Care as true home care specialists. Our goal is to embrace each patient and family's special needs with a personal approach that is unhurried, warm and medically sound." |

My Nurse at Home
"One of our patients was being discharged from an Allentown hospital," said Clare. "As the discharge planner worked with the patient, she was interested to hear the patient say, "'My Nurses At Home' will take care of me!" We decided to adopt that patient's sentiment. All of us at Pocono Medical Home Care are dedicated to being "My Nurse At Home" for each of our patients. That is our goal. We build our entire care plan around that philosophy for each person and family we serve. |

A Prescriptive Approach
"Our approach to home healthcare is comprehensive," Charlie Wilson said. "We use a team of professionals to build a special plan of caring. Each patient becomes the focus of an entire process of individualized needs assessment, evaluation and ongoing clinical review. We are partners with this community's physicians and we truly believe that the service we provide is an extension of the doctor's care." |
